Everything you need to know about preparing print-ready files. Follow these steps and your job will go straight to press.
Best: PDF
Export as "Press Quality" or "PDF/X-1a" with bleed included. This is the format we prefer.
Also Accepted
AI, EPS, PSD, TIFF (print-ready) · PNG & JPG at 300dpi+ · Max file size: 500MB
SAFE ZONE
Keep all text here
Add 3mm bleed on all four sides — extend your background/images past the trim edge.
Keep all important text and logos 5mm inside the trim edge (within the safe zone).
For double-sided jobs, apply bleed to each page separately.
Always use CMYK
RGB files are designed for screens, not print. Colours will be converted during printing and may look different — especially bright blues, oranges, and purples.
We cannot print Pantone / spot colours unless specifically arranged in advance.
✓ 300dpi minimum
Set at actual print size. This ensures sharp, crisp edges and clear fine detail.
✗ 72–96dpi (web images)
Images copied from websites will print blurry and pixelated. Always use original high-res files.
Outline all fonts before saving/exporting — this converts text to shapes so no font is needed.
Or embed all fonts in your PDF export settings.
Never rely on system fonts — they vary between computers and can be substituted automatically.
Check your exported PDF by opening it on a different computer or device.
Use these templates as a starting point — they include the correct dimensions, bleed, and safe zones already set up.
Our in-house design team can set up your files from scratch or fix existing artwork.
